2026 Donald Ponn Fund Scholarships
Beth El Temple Center founding members Beatrice (Bea) and Harold Ponn (both of blessed memory) established The Donald Ponn Scholarship Fund in memory of their son. It supports the youth of our congregation by providing scholarships for a variety of activities that help our children develop their identities and bring them into contact with other Jewish children. In the past, the fund has supported activities such as NFTY teen trips to Israel, NFTY youth institutes, Jewish leadership development and education programs, and Jewish summer camps. Jonathan Jacoby Tikkun Olam Awards for 2025
The 10th annual Jonathan Jacoby Tikkun Olam Awards were presented to Arlyn Roffman and Lisa Bernt at the Social Action Shabbat Service on October 24, 2025. The Service program booklet includes brief narratives of the honorees’ activities, as well as a list of previous years' recipients. Mazel Tov to Arlyn and Lisa!
Social Action's "Welcome Blanket" Project
Stitch, knit or crochet for the Welcome Blanket Project (welcomeblanket.org) with the Social Action Committee! No experience is needed and all ages are invited. Together, we will create beautiful blankets symbolizing how we extend the warmth of our community to others. You can choose to make one (or more) 10 x 10 inch squares, or complete a 40 x 40 inch blanket on your own. Join us monthly to create, talk, and make connections.
